The main purpose of these products is not filling but biostimulation resulting from the stimulatory action on fibroblasts, cells that produce collagen fibres. However, biostimullators made of Calcium Hydroxyapatite can also have a filling effect.

How Biostimulator Works?
More collagen in the skin means firmer, less saggy skin. And this firmness improves the overall appearance of the face in a very natural and delicate way.
Collagen degradation in the human body occurs naturally from the age of 30, with an approximate loss of 1% per year. Excessive sun exposure, intense physical exercise, pollution and smoking can accelerate this process. The main clinical signs resulting from this phenomenon are sagging, loss of volume, elasticity and natural hydration of the skin. The bone loss that occurs in the face also contributes to a more evident and pronounced appearance of ageing.
The application of biostimulators promotes the formation of new collagen, providing recovery of the firmness lost over the years and an improvement in the quality of the skin.
How many sessions you will need?
Treatment protocols suggest one to three monthly sessions, with annual maintenance. Depending on the degree of flaccidity, the number of sessions will be defined. Younger skins usually one session already bring an improvement and serve as prevention. More mature skin generally requires more sessions and combined treatments.
Where can the Biostimulator be applied
Cheeks, Jaws, Chin, Temples and Neck. PDO threads can be applied to the entire face, including the lower eyelids and barcodes.
How is the treatment
The application process is similar to any other injectable filler. After identifying the areas that need it, a series of injections will be carried out, without pain and without a needle, all done with a cannula.
What are the results of treatment with Biostimulators
They assist in the subtle recovery of facial volume, reduce wrinkles and expression marks and improve sagging in the regions where it was applied. Its effects are gradual and lasting, as the body continues to produce collagen up to 6 months after treatment. The result is rejuvenation and natural recovery of the contours of the face.
The effects are seen within 4-6 weeks after the first session, with the final result after 3 months.
The sessions must be repeated every 30-60 days, and the number of sessions varies from 1 to 3.
Treatment Preparation
- Avoid blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, Ibuprofen and fish oil for at least a week prior to treatment.
What to Expect about this treatment
The treatment involves a small amount of the product administered into selected areas using either a very fine needle or cannula. The injections themselves contain a local anaesthetic in it. Once treatment is fully administered, a 5 minutes massage will be performed on the area treated.
Right after the treatment, you may expect swelling, pain, redness, and/or bruising at the treatment area, which is usually resolved within one week.
Biostimulators are not recommended for anyone who
- Is hypersensitive to ingredients including poly-L-lactic acid
- Is pregnant or breastfeeding
- Is under the age of 18
- Has an acute or chronic infection
- Has a history of, or susceptibility to, keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring
- Has skin sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives or infection at the treatment area
- Has had any cosmetic injectable treatment (excluding anti-wrinkle) within the last 12 weeks
- Has any planned surgical procedure 4 weeks pre or post appointment
Post-treatment care

It is a must to
Massage the area treated for 5 minutes, 5 times per day for 5 days in order to reduce swelling and disperse the product evenly.

Avoid
Avoid facial treatments such as laser and chemical peels for the 2 weeks post-treatment.

Care
Apply a cool compress to reduce swelling around the area treated.
Follow-up appointment
A follow-up appointment post-treatment is recommended as we would like to ensure you are happy with the results and optimum results have been achieved. During Follow up appointment, we will take pictures to compare the results with the before pictures. We also re-book your next appointment in 6-8 weeks from your first session as per treatment protocol so that you can maintain and achieve optimum results.
